Thanks for stopping by what I hope will be the future home of an entirely user driven community for Axway customers. While my best intentions were stopped very short because of how busy I got, I have some time over the next few weeks to start working a bit more diligently on this site. If you have anything to contribute, especially in the way of time, articles, knowledgebase items, FAQs, suggestions, or anything else that would drive the development of a community site, use the Contact tab above to send me an e-mail.

All the best,

Tony

B2B Protocol

SFTP, or secure FTP, is a program that uses SSH to transfer files. Unlike standard FTP, it encrypts both commands and data, preventing passwords and sensitive information from being transmitted in the clear over the network. It is functionally similar to FTP, but because it uses a different protocol, you can't use a standard FTP client to talk to an SFTP server, nor can you connect to an FTP server with a client that supports only SFTP. SFTP is generally prefered to FTP using SSL/TLS.
